Just a few lines to let you know I am doing fine and getting along O.K. in Italy.  I have not seen George Thomas as yet but I guess I’ll see him up around here sometime.  I have not been around here very much as yet so I can’t tell you anything.  I have wrote a lot of letters out but they will not reach their destination for some time as they are cheaply mailed.  Tell Vivian I have a letter coming for her but it will be late in arriving.

The grub here is not to bad and the conditions for sleeping are fair so I guess I can’t squawk.  Have you had any mail from Jake.  I guess he has passed his course by now and is a big shot.

Well Mom, I guess this is all I have to say for a while so I will close.
