23rd July, 1917

Sir;-

N.E. ½ 16-20-17 W. 3rd M.

In further reference to your letter of the 22nd ultimo, I beg to advise you that as the Department has received official certificate of the death in action of your son, Robert John Galloway, it has been decided that actions will now be taken to have patent for this land issue in the name of the deceased entrant without calling for the performance of any further settlement duties and without requiring that Letters of Administration be first taken out.

You will be notified of the issue of patent which will be forwarded to the Registrar for the Land Registration District in which the land is situated and it is suggested that you communicate with that official before taking any other action in connection with the land.

Your obedient servant,
[?] Melson
Assistant Secretary

David Galloway Esq.,
Gen. Delivery,
