Dear Dad:-

Well, I'm back at the battery once more, I got back 3 days ago and have been so busy ever since that I haven't had time to write. The night I got up here I found I was to do F.O.O. in a raid which came off last night. I stayed in the front line with the company commander and fortunately it was very quiet and nothing exciting happened. The raiding party made a good job of it and snaffled 4 prisoners and a machine gun. The artillery wasn't used at all but were all standing by in case needed. I got back to the battery at 7 this morning and am going down again to reel up the wire this afternoon.

I got a parcel of magazines from you the other day and thanks very much as they came at the right moment.

That's a good one about my being married! You must think I have pretty poor taste as the skirts I've seen in France would disgrace Tetreauville.

Love to Nen and Ella and congratulate Dorothy & John for me.

Cheero.

Bev.
