Dear Dad:-

Just a line to let you know that I might have a line on C.F.A. Norm. Bethune is taking it and is trying to get into the 73rd 74th or 75th Batteries and get across with a draft. I believe they send drafts of officers over about every 2 months. Please try to get me appointed to one of these batteries. Just write to Capt. Grierson
O.C. 74 Battery.
Petawawa Camp.
Ont
And say that you understand there are several vacancies and that I am anxious to get a commission in the C.F.A. Say I'm 19 and have passed an artillery course at Petawawa.

Then write to Major Campbell,
Chief Recruiting Office,
3rd Military District,
Kingston.
And tell him the same thing.

Please do this at once as Norm. has got a reply saying that he is attached to the 74th battery that is Griersons and they say he is a good head. If I find it too slow when I get the attachment I can get in one of the drafts. But please [page missing]
