My Dear Mother

Just a few lines looking to find you all well as I am in the pink of Health myself. I received your parcel the other day I was well pleased with the socks and scarf they are better than the bought socks. We are having fine weather out here now is just like summer weather I am laying out a Hill writing this letter it is nice to lay out here and watch the Airoplains flying around and to see them have a fight they brought down a German Airoplain this morning close by here they are brining them down nearly every day we can here the British Guns going off all around us our Artillery but over about ten or twelve shells to the German one the Germans I think are scared to start for the British Artillery is to much for them. Dear Mother I hardely know what to say for there is not much to write about out here, and we cannot say what we like we have got to be careful what we say in case of spys getting to know to much and all our letters are read befor they leave France so if we say anything about where we are or what we are doing we will get into an awful row. Dear Mother I hope by this time you have got that Seperation Allonce I think by that letter that you should soon get it did you send your Marriage papers to them if you did you should have it by this time, well about the asigned pay you are not intitled to any more than you have got they did not stop any pay of me until I left Canada so you have got it all. Dear Mother I had a very nice letter from Mrs Freemantle last night and she was asking for you I will give you her address and can drop her a line I know she would like to here from you. I think I will have to close hoping to here from you soon remember me to all the people around.

I remain your loving son,
Willie
